The Reliable Linking Network is a network of directories that can help boost your inbound links.
One of the major factors in ranking high on Google is inbound links. Inbound Linking strategies are development in many different ways, however one of the most common ways is to submit your company information, including your link, to business directories on the internet. Most business directories offer the ability to have a link point to your website, and once registered by Google, this will then be listed as an inbound link to your site. Your Website Content is the most important part of your website. Many people say that the design is key…but here is the real story. The People that visit your site, rarely read all the content on the page that they are looking at. In fact, in many cases, they only stay on the page for about thirty seconds on average. The design is the important part for the prospective buyer and they need to know relatively quickly if they can get from you what they need or want. If so great. It’s the words on the page, however, that brought them to your site. The words and website content are indexed by Google, Yahoo, and Bing, and put into their search engine database allowing visitors to find you when searching.
Simply put, the more Read the rest of this entry »

Alex Goldman of InternetNews.com writes “Salesforce Taps Into Twitter”, he goes on to say, “Customer contact centers have moved far beyond the phone, says Salesforce, embracing Facebook, Twitter, and other Web applications.”
I have been preaching the value of online social media tools for over a year. I have been hawking the tools needed to grow your business via social media to our customers for months. The writing is on the wall……. Grow with the times or they leave you behind.
More and more companies and consumers are turning to

Yahoo has just released their Top 10 Searches for 2008. Included in the Search are “American Idol”, “Britney Spears”— (Still? Haven’t we heard and seen enough of Britney?)– and Barrack Obama.
It is not surprising to see many searches for a younger audience appear in this list and I think that might also be why President Elect appears as well. Many people believe that the younger population voted more for him and therefore I don’t think it’s a stretch to see him in a list with Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, and American Idol.
This also begs to question about how much market penetration Yahoo has for the younger population, generation z or whatever we are calling them now. It seems that the top 10 searches are all relevant to people under 21. It make me wonder if businesses should be spending any money on Yahoo Pay Per Click advertising if their target market is above 21. However….it seems if you offer a product or service and really need the “tweeners” to buy into it, Yahoo PPC should be right up your alley.

According to WebProNews…
Yahoo and Google became a little closer this week, with the news that Yahoo will carry AdSense for Search in a two-week, limited test of the service.
This is really odd to me considering the Microsoft Yahoo News and how they may merge (even if Microsoft does a hostile takeover of Yahoo). Not sure why we have all 3 major search engines getting into bed right now together. Something smells fishy here and althought I smell it I cannot quite put my finger on what it is.
I will however, continue to endure these odd announcements and keep my finger on the pulse of the search engine market to advise our blog readers of what is happening.

Directly from Yahoo’s Blog
“We’ve been rolling out some changes to our fresh web data and crawling, indexing and ranking algorithms over the last few days. We expect the update will be completed by the weekend. So, as you know, throughout this process you may see some changes in ranking as well as some shuffling of the pages in the index. ”
Do you even know where you rank on yahoo? If you don’t, you should contact your web company and have them run a ranking report for you. You should be able to have such a report run for you on the same day for less than $100. If you don’t know where you rank, then you likely don’t know if this yahoo change is affecting you in a positive or negative way.
If you are affected in a negative way, then you need to make changes to your site to ensure that you can move back up to the top of the results. It will take time, but it will take less time if you are aware of what is happening then if you sit back and watch and don’t make any changes.
